MARS is a partnership between match directors from participating clubs. The intent is to create a fun series that’s both easy-going and exciting to promote camaraderie within the local, Mid Atlantic shooting community. MARS will collect scores from match directors after each event and track totals throughout the season, culminating in a finale. Each participating club is completely autonomous. Match rules, fees, administration and governance are at the discretion of each match director and hosting club.

How it Works

Anyone can shoot any match, including the finale. But, to be eligible to become series champion, competitors must shoot matches at three (3) of the five (5) participating clubs three (3) of the four (4) four (4) of the six (6) participating clubs. (revised 1/9/19). (revised 9/23/19)

You get a match score on Practiscore for each match. Match scores will be converted to series points, based on the percentage of their match score as compared to the overall match winner.

Series champion will be determined using series points earned from the shooter’s top three (3) matches combined with series points earned at the finale. All competitors will scored together. There are no separate divisions or classes.

There will be 2 scoring divisions: Bolt Action Rifles and Semi-Auto Rifles. (revised 2/11/19 -retroactive to all 2019 matches)

NOTE: You must use the same Practiscore account when registering for each individual match throughout the season for MARS to accurately track your series points.

Participating Clubs

Mayberry Game Protective Association

Izaak Walton League of America – York Chapter #67

Baltimore County Game and Fish Protective Association

Columbia Fish and Game Association

Topton Fish & Game

Hamburg Rifle & Pistol Club

Each event will have a match fee of around $20-$40, determined by each club and match director. There is no additional cost for you to participate in MARS and have us track your scores for the season. We would appreciate it if you do business with our sponsors and tell them we sent you.

We are currently looking for sponsors to donate prizes. BUT we don’t want this series to be about getting prize. We want it to be about the love of the sport, comradery and bragging rights. If we do get prizes, they will not only be awarded to the top shooters, but also randomly distributed (by lottery) to competitors.

For the 2019 season, there will be a small prize table at the finale for top competitors. See our Sponsors Page for a complete list of sponsors.

In addition, there will be a 50% OFF Vortex Optics certificate awarded to a randomly selected shooter at every match. (Only 1 certificate per competitor)
